A Hampshire airfield can continue to be used, thanks to the co-operation of police, Coastguard and private pilots.
Daedalus Airfield in Lee on Solent is owned an operated by Hampshire Police.
Their Chief Constable was becoming concerned over safety issues affecting aircraft using the facility.
But following successful talks among all parties concerned, the airfield has been brought up to the highest safety standard possible.
Steve Cockshott of Lee Flying Association says its a win-win situation.
"It looks like our proposal has convinced the chief constable that there are ways it can stay open and be even safer than it is now at no cost to the constabulary.
"So it's very good news all round, I think!" |
