Simon first heard Original 106 when he began his Masters degree in Journalism at Bournemouth University.
He tuned in to launch night to make notes for one of his early assignments. The first song he heard was “Riders on the Storm” by The Doors… and at that moment he realised he’d found his future place of work.
After leaving university, he spent time at a number of radio stations and wrote for some national music magazines but, all the time, he pined to be back down on the south coast.
He’s now been at Original since March 2008.
When he’s not at work, Simon can be found playing guitar and drums (but not at the same time, sadly), or walking on Bournemouth beach. |
